Every year, we give millions of dollars in grants to thousands of applicants from a huge range of sporting groups - from rugby and netball to kayaking and lawn bowls. We are proud to be the largest funder of amateur sports participation in New Zealand.

As a community-focused trust, we provide support for local initiatives, facilities and events that bring vibrancy, connectedness, growth and economic benefits to the region. Our transformational funding process brings life to grassroots organisations and large-scale multi-million-dollar projects alike.It was twenty-five years ago that the sale of a power company sparked the formation of TECT. Today there would be few people in our region who haven’t been positively impacted by the funding decisions of the trust.We support innovation in our community so that together we build a region that is the envy of all others. Now at approximately $1 billion, the TECT fund is one of the largest in the country, significantly contributing to the creation of a region from which, not only current residents will benefit, but future generations. This is something of which we can all feel proud because we all make this happen through our collective support of TECT’s community distributions.The Western Bay’s growing needs in terms of infrastructure, both physically and socially, are only going to increase, which is where TECT plays an increasingly critical role.

Funds are available for charitable, philanthropic or cultural purposes that benefits the local community. 

Funding is distributed between the areas of community, which includes arts and culture (30%), health (15%), sport (40%) and education (15%).

All grants must be used for goods and services within New Zealand to meet Inland Revenue requirements and we can generally only fund events or projects that will take place during the next six months. We cannot fund any retrospective activities or transactions already incurred e.g. deposits and purchases made prior to approval of the grant. No exceptions.

Pub Charity Limited distributes grants to worthy community organisations all over New Zealand through the funds raised in gaming machines hosted in our member hotels and taverns.

We first began raising grants funds for New Zealand communities in 1987. That’s 30 years of excellent partnerships with our venues, 30 years of great entertainment for our players and 30 years supporting communities all over New Zealand.

We never lose sight of the fact that without the hotels and taverns that host our gaming machines, there would be no Pub Charity Limited – and no community funds.

The distribution of our funds is unique. We look to support a large number of organisations from across the spectrum – community groups, health, sport, education, emergency services, environment, culture – all receive equal consideration by our Net Proceeds Committee.

We have a policy of returning funds back into the communities where they were raised – and this isn’t just by area. Our Net Proceeds Committee always takes note of the suburbs and small communities where funds are being raised to ensure they are the ones that benefit.

Kiwi Gaming Foundation is dedicated to making quality grants to local organisations that make a real difference in our community.

Kiwi Gaming Foundation (under its original name, Christchurch Earthquake Recovery Trust or CERT for short) was established in 2011 to assist with the Christchurch rebuild. 

The Foundation’s focus is now on supporting amateur sport, education, arts and culture, and other community initiatives in Canterbury, Dunedin, Lower Hutt, New Plymouth, Gisborne and Tauranga.

We are committed to looking after our customers and stakeholders; and acting with honesty and integrity in all our dealings.

Quality funding applications from organisations based in Canterbury, Dunedin, Lower Hutt, Gisborne and Tauranga are welcome.

The Bobby Foundation is about backing Kiwi sporting legends and helping them succeed. 100% of our funding goes exclusively to NZ Racing & grassroots sports, providing the financial support and resources to create a thriving culture that benefits everyone in New Zealand.

The Bobby name celebrates our racing heritage by honouring New Zealand’s most successful racehorse ‘Phar Lap’, also known as ‘Bobby’ by people close to him. Phar Lap is the epitome of a Kiwi sporting legend, with a big heart who put NZ on the world stage.

Carrus  was formed by Paul Adams in April 1990 and since then has established an excellent reputation in property development.  Based in Tauranga and organised in a tight focused team around its founder – Paul Adams, Carrus is acknowledged as one of the Bay of Plenty’s regional leaders in property development and management.  Over the years, Carrus has extended its portfolio to encompass projects in Auckland, Hamilton, Taupo, Rotorua, Napier, Palmerston North and Wellington.

Carrus is an experienced land developer with an established track record having proven expertise in planning and design, project management, sales and marketing, and all aspects of financial management.

The list of successful developments to date are not an achievement that Paul and the Carrus team take for granted. They reflect a genuine capability to provide innovative professional management of every development from planning and design through to landscaping and features to ensure there is a quality product which, most importantly, benefits the end section purchaser.

Tauranga Rowing Club received funding from Carrus towards our Senior Men's 8+ in 2019.  The boat was named the Carrus Centurion .
