Rowing is one of New Zealand's premier sports. It's a great way to keep fit, have fun and make life long friends.
Give it a go - a great pathway - school rowers can go onto international success with Rowing NZ, University Rowing Scholarships in the States and other opportunities.
Aquinas College, Mt Maunganui College, Papamoa College, Otumoetai College and Tauranga Girls' College students. This is a great chance to give rowing a go, join in and see what all the hype is about!
Fees
Rowers - 2024/25 Season fees are $2,250 p.a.
Coxswains - 2024/25 Season fees are $700 p.a.
These fees apply for the rowing season as a whole. Typically the rowing season starts in full in October each year and carries through to March. It is through this period the majority of our costs are incurred.
Fees include the following:
- Use of club boat equipment, gym and boatshed facilities
- Club regatta entry fees (for school regattas your childs school will charge you directly)
- TRC Summer Camp at Lake Maraetai, Mangakino
- Affiliation fees with Rowing New Zealand
- Affiliation fees with Bay of Plenty Rowing Association
- Coach & rowing boat insurance & maintenance
- Fuel for coach boats
- Maintenance on gym equipment
- General expenses on our building (security, wifi, power, gas, cleaning, insurance)
Unfortunately we cannot provide any family discounts for second sibling membership. We are a non-profit organisation and pass on all costs to our members. For instance we won't receive a discount on your affiliation fees from our governing bodies for a second sibling membership.
The Committee will consider fee discounts for financial hardship on a case by case basis.
Additional costs:
- TRC club uniform (TRC training singlet and/or TRC Row Suit for regattas)
- John Howard Regatta to Hawkes Bay if attended
- Transport and accommodation of attending the NZ Club Championships in Twizel, South Island (bi-annually)
- School fees charged for attendance at school regattas from mid February each season
