Kia ora everyone,

Some great news out of the recent U19 world championships held in Lithuania as Peer Czorny, who rowed for Tauranga and Otumoetai College during the 23/24 season, came away with a Bronze medal in the Four.

Also on Representative duties we had Jimmy away at the U22 Trans Tasman event in Adelaide. This event which included a North and South Island team against the best from each State gave Jimmy a third in the Double and a great race for second in the Eight with only point two of a second separating them from a fast South Australian crew racing on their home waters.

Update on Parking

The council has informed us that there will now be a four hour limit during weekdays on parking in Memorial Park. This will be monitored by cameras at the entrance to the park. While the goal is to stop people using the park as free parking for workers from the city centre we have asked if we can submit number plates to be exempt from this for any events that may go over the time.

Recruitment

As we come to the end of the winter sports season we have another opportunity to recruit rowers. If you have any friends who would like to try rowing please let them know that starting term four there is an opportunity to join and more free "Give it a Go" sessions at 8 am on Sunday 7th and 21st September. There will be more information to follow on the Summer season, but as always if someone wants to try rowing send them down.

Ngā mihi,
