Hi Everyone,

Only one month to go till the first club regatta. Great to see the whole club down on Saturday mornings now.  In news we recently had a number of athletes involved in the Interprovincial Regatta held at Lake Karapiro. Congratulations to all involved in a full day of racing. 

In Committee news after the recent AGM we are pleased to announce the 2024-25 Committee Members:

• Club President - Richard van Dijk - 2 years
• Treasurer - Morgan Lloyd - 1 year
• Secretary - Helen Rothery - 2 years
• Club Captain - Simon Aubrey - 1 year
• Vice Club Captain - Luca Harris - 2 years
• General Committee Member - Cushla Waites - 1 year
• General Committee Member - David Derecourt - 2 years

The meeting also approved that Simon Aubrey be granted Life Membership of Tauranga Rowing Club for his more than 20 years of service to the club.

In funding news:

• Four Winds have approved $2k towards a new fridge for the lounge.
• Kiwi Gaming Foundation have approved $10k towards one new coaching boat. We are waiting on another grant to add to this so we can get one complete setup.
• Grassroots Trust have given $10k towards new Concept2 blades which have been ordered and should be usable before the first regatta.

With the first regatta being only one month away, October is the time to purchase any new or additional items of TRC uniform. Those new to the club will be issued with a TRC T-shirt Free of Charge during October as long as fees are up to date- there is no need to order a T-shirt.  The only uniform you require for racing is either a singlet or a rowsuit. All other items are optional.

Log in to your TRC Friendly account, click on Menu and then Purchase Merchandise. If the size you wish to purchase is not showing as an option please contact Helen Rothery secretary@taurangarowingclub.co.nz.  There are some items available now with new stock arriving in the next couple of weeks.  All incoming sizing is shown, just order what you want even if current stock is showing as zero. There has unfortunately been a supplier price increase on TRC singlets but existing stock will be sold at last year’s price. Incoming stock of rowsuits and singlets are listed as 776 brand.

There are also a few items of second hand uniform available.  Contact Helen if you would like to discuss this.

Following on from interest last year we have introduced a new “Supporter Polo” for friends and family, available in both mens and womens sizing and modelled beautifully here by our Club President. These will not be held in stock but order turnaround is only two to three weeks.
